Boiler Room: Gingy & Bordello, Tiga and Sei A
The beginning of April saw Turbo Recordings employees take over the Boiler Room. In addition to Sei A and Gingy & Bordello, the label boss himself, Tiga got behind the decks. Thoroughly enjoyable night!
Caspa premiers video ahead of new album ‘Alpha Omega’
They say 'if you don’t know Caspa you don’t know Dubstep'. That might just be true, because the dubstep pioneer from UK has been producing gold for about a decade now. Besides running 3 record labels, hosting a party series and remixing superstar producers, he's managed to work on a new studio album due out April 22 on Dub Police. The LP called 'Alpha Omega' will see Caspa cultivating a wide selection of dub-influenced music in collaboration with artists like Keith Flint of The Prodigy and Dutch duo The Partysquad. Right now, we've got a video for the lead track off the album, 'Setting Sun' feat. vocalist Jagga. The sinister looking visual piece will help boost the promotion ahead of the upcoming record.

DJ-Follower’s Daily Dose of Free Tunes: Diplo & TAI, Viceroy and Butch Clancy
Oh boy, do we have some goodies for you right here! Not only do you get to hear a track by Diplo and the mysterious TAI, you also get to download them. Boosting the edition is another one of Viceroy's free disco beats, this time written with the help of French Horn Rebellion. For starters, take a listen to the filthy retwerk of Wolfgang Gartner's tune by Butch Clancy!
Reminder: these tracks are the courtesy of the artist. Sort of creative commons that you are supposed to share, mix and remix as you please. Nevertheless, we urge you to support the artists by acquiring their other releases and going to the shows! Enjoy, and grab them while you can!
Wolfgang Gartner's 'Shrunken Heads' has been turned into an eclectic trap tune by Butch Clancy. Dig the trap vibe!
Viceroy and French Horn Rebellion will soon unveil their Friday Nights Remix EP. Until then, check out their tune of everybody's favorite day of the week – 'Friday'!
TAI and Diplo have teamed up to make the 'Booty Drop'. This doesn't fall under the category of serious listening. This bouncy affair is for having fun, although Diplo does a fine job of maintaining attitude with his vocals. Enjoy!
OWSLA’s Durante releases Challenger EP
The '80s vibe is coming back in a big way, in a disco way, in the acid way, in the deep house way. Durante represents the two latter notions as evident from the 4-track EP 'Challenger', made available on OWSLA's digital label Nest. This producer's coming out of nowhere, but we sure are glad OWSLA have gotten him under their wing!
From the beginning, you're urged to 'Take A Look', and the track captures with a profound house feel and a multi-layered percussion section. So after you've gotten curious, the bass kicks in and really makes you appreciate the feeling that Durante's been able to give forth.
Next one's a stadium-sized banger with more of an electro touch, giving grounds to the belief that we have a multi-genre producer on our hands! 'Radio' will surely play this tune over and over again, from Hardwell to Tiesto to A-Trak to Fedde le Grand.
Perhaps the highlight for me personally, the slowly grinding 'Challenger's got a nice pipe section, to go with the '80s car movie synthesizers. Kavinsky will be proud.
The tempo remains slow for the last one, 'Crash'. You'll be able to smoothly go back to your everyday actions after this finished the EP. But the ride sure is enjoyable. Looking forward to hearing from Durante!
DJ-Follower’s Daily Dose of Free Tunes: MAKJ, Griz and eekkoo
The start of the week edition of Daily Dose is definitely headlined by GRiZ, but also complimented by a MAKJ remix and an original by eekkoo. Great variety at display as well, from glitchy hip hop to electro house to progressive house – get pumped, the week's only started!
Reminder: these tracks are the courtesy of the artist. Sort of creative commons that you are supposed to share, mix and remix as you please. Nevertheless, we urge you to support the artists by acquiring their other releases and going to the shows! Enjoy, and grab them while you can
Miami Music Week's a showcase festival which seems to fuel a lot of new projects, friendships and label deals. MAKJ got to express his fondness of the Belgian electronic sup Sound of Stereo, that he really-really likes 'Zipper'. So they gave him the stems of the track so he could remix it. Hardwell's shown this one support on his radio show, although to no surprise – this is one thight electro house tune for you, here!
Want to know who's the only person deadmau5 follows on Soundcloud? Well, turn your attention to this original mix by his fellow Canadian producer eekkoo for the answer. Also, if you're looking to find out how progressive house really sounds like, you should refer to this track not those of people usually consider to fall under the category. 'Old Castle' delivers a chord progression after progression, with a bit of a sinister feel to it,
GRiZ will do the intro for this one: “New GRiZ single “Gettin’ Live” from my upcoming second record with myself playin sax and my homie Muzzy on the guitar lead!!! Free download!! Click like, share, repost, etc! Show love spread love! I just started my HUGE spring tour all across the country. See all the venues and festivals that I am hitting now through summer at my website.”
I will only say that this one's the headline of the day for me, I'll be getting my groove on to this during the following week. Enjoy!
