Boiler Room: Nicolas Jaar
There's no doubt, Nicolas Jaar is one of the most welcomed characters in the music scene. No wonder he was a highly anticipated guest at Boiler Room as well. How can you not like a producer who goes to uncharted territories on a regular basis, creating and inventing at every step of the way? How can you not like the Essential Mixer of the Year, who's able to mix Aphex Twin with string quartets, Ricardo Villalobos with Marvin Gaye, throwing N*SYNC into the mix, alongside cuts of Feist, his own album 'Space is Only Noise' and the New Yorker’s critically acclaimed Sneaky Sound System remix?

Armin van Buuren’s ‘Intense’ leaks, legal streaming now available
At this day and age, it seems it's getting harder and harder to control the creations once their completed. As of Friday afternoon, digital copies of Armin van Buuren's latest record 'Intense' started making its rounds on the interweb. Torrent sites and illegal locker pages like Mediafire all shared the album which took the leading Dutch DJ so much time and energy to produce. As he puts it himself:: "I’ve never put so much work into one album and each track by itself is pretty Intense. They are all about moments of extreme joy or sadness and the album flirts with all kinds of musical styles, particularly the title track itself."
When you listen to the album, you see that the studio time definitely wasn't wasted. But how will the leaking affect sales? Some artists move their release dates up. That's what Kid Cudi did for 'Indicud', to prevent losing out on sales. A$AP ROCKY on the other hand didn't do anything, and benefited from the extra exposure.
Armin van Buuren’s management has decided to make the entire album available for streaming on Spotify. This is a nice gesture showing that Armin's got full confidence in his fans, who will contribute by buying the album anyway. At the same time, people who might've not heard the album otherwise, are now provided with the possibility to listen, share and like the album for maximum reach.
'Intense' comes two years after the successful release of 'Miracle' as the fifth artist album of one of the award-winning DJ. Support the artist, pre-order the album here! Enjoy!
