World record for largest back2back DJ set

Yesterday, 120 enlisted DJs set out to break the world record for the most people ever to participate in a non stop back to back DJ set. The record attempt took place in Detroit, with the DJs mixing one vinyl record each.


The initiative comes from Sheik ‘N’ Beik and DetroitEd – a non-profit organization with the mission to impact local communities by kickstarting various art and science projects.

This time they took on themselves to organize breaking this record with local and global artists. The funds raised via by breaking this record will go to furthering the Detroit community.

Check out the record being broken in the historic Fort Wayne in downtown Detroit. Official numbers yet to be announced, but it's safe to say, they managed to break the record! Initial line-up below, keep your eye on the event page for the final results!

Watch: From a ‘professional clubber’ to a pro DJ, Nicole Moudaber mini movie

Nicole Moudaber has been causing waves as of late. Her debut long-playing Believe got released earlier in May on Drumcode. The #489 DJ in the world has come a long way from being a 'professional clubber' – she's now firmly in the dialogue when it comes to techno, house or – if you will – tech house. To learn more about the intruiging DJ out of UK, check out this mini documentary with an insight into her world. “To me [DJing] is more like a cathartic experience. – I go into another planet completely, if I could do that 24/7 maybe all my issues would be gone in my life," tells the DJ-producer jokingly. South-America has caught the EDM bug in a big way in recent years. So it's no suprise that Skrillex has become a really beloved figure among those parts of the world. The OWSLA label head is especially welcomed in Mexico, where he spent the last week of 2012 touring alongside 12th Planet, Zedd and Nadastrom. Watch: Swedish House Mafia video that got us asking questions

Last Friday, we pondered what Swedish House Mafia is up to again, after the encryptic website and teasers emerged. Now, we've gotten an answer – it's not a documentary, nor a comeback effort. 


We do really ask ourselves, why do we keep writing about Swedish House Mafia in presence, when they've officially disbanded? The contradiction isn't the only one, as it turns out the group has inked a deal with Volvo.

So the video is actually a downbeat version of their 'Leave The World Behind'. The previously unreleased version features the electronic artist Luna.

The melancholic visuals also features a Volvo 2014 XC60 Crossover, serving as a launching point for the SHM and Volvo partnership. As announced by the Swedish car company, the song is a part of a global advertising campaign.
