Benny Benassi clashes with The Rolling Stones on GRRR!
The Rolling Stones meet Benny Benassi – I guess Christmas is coming early this year for both rock'n'roll and house fans! New tracks from legendary artists in both their respective genres – how could it get any better? In November, the Stones released a new original called 'Doom and Gloom' – a track for their recently released compilation album 'GRRR!' The legendary rock group is celebrating their 50th anniversary in style. They also released a music video for the new track. Of course, exciting for all the house lovers is Benassi's take on the whole matter.
And Benassis take in short – signature Stones' rock, with trademark vocals by Jagger blended superbly with Benassis stadium-approved house beat, euphoric synths and bold chainsaw loops. This one's got edge. The legendary Italian DJ hasn't lost his touch – just the opposite can be said about this definite banger!
Check out the remix by Benassi already hyped as one of the best remixes in 2012! Find the original with the video below!

Tiësto, Diplo and others remix ‘Sweet Nothing’ by Florence Welch and the Grammy nominee Calvin Harris
'Sweet Nothing' is one of the most widely appreciated tracks from '18 Months' the album of the hit songwriter, producer and DJ Calvin Harris. Calvin Harris knows how to write music and with the unique voice of Florence Welch, this was bound to be a pop hit right away! Now there's 5 different variations of 'Sweet Nothing' on the freshly unleashed remix package! Also check out Calvin Harris' Grammy nominations here!
Although the trapstyle remix by Diplo and Grandtheft has already circled around for some time (listen here), the official 'Sweet Nothing' remix package will also include Tiësto, Burnz, Dirtyloud and Quilinez.
Tiësto has given the track a fundamental trance make-over! This will cause a lot of headbanging in the near future, get a helmet!
Dirtyloud, known for electro house and dubstep productions, has given the sweet song an contrastingly diry dubstep twist!
Burns has given 'Sweet Nothing' a more atmospheric, down-tempo electronica touch!
Quilinez has turned the track into a stadium-sized trance anthem with an impressive build-up at the beginning!
Brolific times for Bromance labelhead Brodinski
Alright, alright – I know 'prolific' isn't written exactly like that, but the temptation was too great! However it is on the money – the French labelboss, Brodinski, really is having lucrative times with the young imprint Bromance co-founded with Manu Barron. His solo-career has stepped into high gear as well. Aside constant touring and work with the label, mostly releasing underground techno and bass tracks, he's managed to come up with new music on his own! On December 10, 'Bromance #7' EP – the first solo release by Brodinski – was made available on Beatport.
Recently Brodinski told Inthemix how the newly born imprint is doing: “The first year of Bromance has been super amazing, definitely a lot more than I was expecting. I created the label with Manu, my manager, to push the artists we love and to release our own music with our own schedule – our own way of doing things”. When asked if it was a conscious decision to do a solo EP he told: “Yes, definitely! Gesaffelstein released his own EP in July – it’s good to show people our own side.”
Surprisingly, this is the debut release by Brodinski alone. Until now he's come up with split EP's between Club Cheval and Gesaffelstein. But 'Bromance #7' changes all that. We get a real taste of the characteristic sound of the French DJ. It consists of two tracks – 'Hypnotize' and 'Dance Like Machines'.
'Dance Like Machines' shows off some fast-hi-hats with emphasis on snare-drum breaks that are topped off with bits of vocals hear and there. Profound kick-drums are found on both tracks, but they're especially on display in 'Hypnotize', a track which excells at giving you the unstoppable desire to rave at some place like the Warehouse project. This one's even got some psychedelic trance elements in it, with the pulsating and cosmic loops going off in the background at all times.
I can see these tracks becoming a constant guest at sets from guys like Laidback Luke, Chuckie and even Afrojack! Brodinski is on the rise, he's got mad skills when it comes to mixing. He said in an interview: ‘I am a DJ first, always have been, always will. I’m not a musician. That’s why I teamed up with Guillaume from The Shoes for Gucci Vump’. Not a musician, okay. But damn – he knows he's way around the production room.

Clockwork working thowards stardom
Clockwork is an Italian DJ/producer duo made up of Francesco Leali and Federico Maccherone. The project started in 2010 and saw its first official release, 'It's you again', in February 2011. The relatively young duo ranks really high, at #961 in The Official Global DJ Rankings already. There's great news for Clockwork and their growing fanbase, as their latest 'Titan' EP gets an official video and remix EP!
'Titan' has found support among top DJs, i.e. Hardwell played it 'On Air'; Laidback Luke played the Congorock Safari edit on hist most recent 'Club FG'! It's not actually a big surprise that the track's found so much positive feedback. It's EDM stadium-oriented by nature, a massive banger that starts the adrenaline glands right away!
Now, Clockwork is under the wing of Diplo's massive electronic music label Mad Decent, and on their way to the top of the top. Just recently MTV Clubland premiered the official video for Clockwork's debut release from Mad Decent. It's a pretty cool video, nothing too fancy about it. Just people dropping to the bass-filled track in their own quirky ways.
