Upcoming EP from Flux Pavilion – setting a high bar for bass music in 2013

We're barely into the new year and bass music is already blowing roofs off places. I'm of course referring to the upcoming Flux Pavilion 'Blow the Roof' EP. Due 28th January on UKFmusic, the title-track has just been published to give you a sneak preview of what's in stall for you. You just know this one's gonna be played over and over in radio shows as well as festivals as well as your local dubstep raves.

Now, before you start listening to this, turn the knobs of your sub-woofers, speakers or whatever equipment your using – do it in a clockwise direction and don't hold back, the neighbours want to hear this one as well!

Did you hear Bassnectar's latest remix?

Tired of dubstep? Try this on for size and think again! Bassnectar puts his spin on Underworld’s Rez

Trap music forcing its way into dubstep's territories, Skrillex trying a new approach on his latest 'Reason' EP – there's a lot of talk about dubstep being played out. But just when you thought the fountain of dubstep had lost it's fresh, wobbling nectar of basslines and drops, Bassnectar comes along and proves you wrong. The brainchild of Lorin Ashton, Bassnectar's always manages to innovate an put out records showing his multi-faceted nature. The hereby remix of 'Rez' by Underworld is a perfect showing of that. But don't take my word for it, listen to the tracks below – first the remix and then the original!

DJ Fresh’s Gold Dust goes GOLD

The drum & bass and dubstep producing, turntablism practicing, worldwide recognition serving Englishman – DJ Fresh – has gotten what he's striving for. His single from back in 2008, 'Gold Dust', has quite appropriately gone gold. He's gotten over 400,000 copies of the d'n'b anthem out to the world (in the UK this number is calculated by the number of copies shipped to retailers, not the number of sold like in the US)

'Gold Dust' was originally released in 2008. It got an officially off the hook video in 2010. Then in 2011, it was rereleased on Fresh's album 'Nextlevelism'. Superb track, cool visuals – gold written all over it!
