NFL Confirms Maroon 5, Travis Scott & Big Boi to Perform at Super Bowl
“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”

The 2019 Super Bowl halftime show lineup is finally here. The NFL on Sunday officially announcedthat Maroon 5 will be joined by Travis Scott and Big Boi at the upcoming championship game.
Scott’s involvement with the halftime show was officially announced last month in the wake of TMZ’s report. The move drew criticism from celebrities like Michael B. Jordan and Reverend Al Sharpton, who believed Scott shouldn’t support the NFL after their treatment of activist quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Cardi B later said that she wouldn’t perform at the halftime show in solidarity with Kaepernick. Maroon 5 were confirmed to play the halftime show in September. Super Bowl LIII takes place on Sunday, February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
In a statement, Scott confirmed the donation, saying: “I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”
It was previously reported that Maroon 5 were struggling to find anyone to agree to perform with them during the Super Bowl halftime show.
Sources claimed last year that the band had asked over half a dozen acts to play, including Cardi B, who featured on their single ‘Girls Like You’. A representative for the Bronx rapper later said she was “not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement.”

Kathy Griffin Calls Out No Women Among Top-Paid Comedians
Griffin tweeted out an image of the Forbes list with the simple caption “No women.”

Jerry Seinfeld topped the rankings with estimated earnings of $57.5m (£45.3m).
Amy Schumer was the first woman to make the list last year but has dropped back out this time. Ricky Gervais is the only British comedian on the list.
Jerry Seinfeld came in first place, having earned $57.5m over the past 12 months according to the publication. This does not come as a surprise, since Seinfeld has occupied the top spot every year since the ranking was first compiled in 2006 – except in 2016 when Kevin Hart passed him.
Hart, who recently gave up his Oscars hosting gig after being criticised for homophobic tweets he sent out in the past, is a close second with reported earnings of $57m.
Dave Chappelle follows in third place, having cashed in $35m according to Forbes.
Chris Rock, Ricky Gervais (the only British name on the otherwise all-American list), Gabriel Iglesias, Terry Fator, and Jim Gaffigan follow.
Jeff Dunham and Sebastian Maniscalco occupy the ninth and 10th position respectively.
Amy Schumer became the first woman to ever make the list last year, when her Netflix special and tour increased her earnings.
Another comedian missing from the list is Louis CK, who was in last year’s top 10 with $52m (£41m) earnings.
But after he confirmed sexual misconduct allegations against him in November 2017, his second Netflix special was cancelled and he has only performed a handful of dates since.
Seinfeld has topped the list in all but one year since it was first compiled in 2006. Kevin Hart took the top spot in 2016.
Forbes attributes Seinfeld’s earnings this year to his 2017 Netflix deal and Hulu’s streaming rights to all nine seasons of Seinfeld, as well as more than $30m (£23.6m) from stand-up.
Hart is close behind in second place with $57m (£44.9m). The comedian, who recently pulled out of hosting the Oscars due to controversy over homophobic tweets, also earned more than $30m from touring and starred in the Jumanji film remake.
