Can We Please Talk About Katy Perry’s Engagement Ring?
It was an unexpected announcement given the fact that they’ve been in an on-off relationship for the past three years. Katy Perrytook fans by surprise when she posted a picture of her pretty floral ring and announced that she was engaged to Orlando Bloom on Valentine’s Day. Revealing the news on Instagram, she captioned the picture, ‘Full bloom’. News that the two were seeing each other first emerged when they were spotted paddle-boarding together in Italy, with Bloom raising eyebrows by going completely nude.
On one hand, we’re always here for an unconventional engagement ring, especially when that means unique shape and stone. Whatever this pink center stone may be—some are guessing that it’s a pink diamond, others are saying it could be a ruby—we love that she’s rocking something that’s not a ginormous clear diamond.
He estimates that the ruby is about 2 carats and the diamond halo is 2.5 carats, making the entire engagement ring more than 4.5 carats altogether. E! reports the ring would retail for approximately $5 million.

A Star is Born received eight nominations for the Oscars, including for Best Picture. And while Gaga’s co-star Bradley Cooper was nominated in the Best Actor category, he was notably snubbed for Best Director – the film is his directorial debut.
Speaking about the snub, Gaga told The Los Angeles Times: “Well, you know, you never know what’s going to happen. But at the end of the day, he knows that he’s the best director in my eyes, and in all of our eyes as his cast. I know that he’s so happy that we’ve all been nominated and that the film was recognised and we all feel really, really beyond elated for the recognition.”

While the photo was a departure for the singer-songwriter ― who is frequently photographed in suits, as well as the occasional caftan or romper ― it isn’t the first time he’s spoken about his battle with body image.
In 2015, he told “60 Minutes Australia” that he’s more offended when people make comments about his weight than when he hears slurs about his sexuality.
“I think just because I’ve accepted that, if someone calls me a faggot, it’s like, I am gay, and I’m proud to be gay, so there’s no issues there,” he said at the time. “If someone calls you fat, it’s like, that’s something I want to change.”
While Smith made headlines for losing a reported 50 pounds after his 2014 debut album, “In the Lonely Hour,” rocketed him to stardom, he said he remained “a bit obsessive” about his weight.
“When I was shooting my first music videos, I just wasn’t happy with the way I looked, so I was trying to control the way the camera moved,” he told V Magazine in an interview conducted by Sarah Jessica Parker. “I was constantly looking in the mirror, pinching my waist, weighing myself every day.”
Smith’s photo was snapped by LA-based queer artist and photographer Ryan Pfluger. The image shows Smith on the beach at sunset, shirtless and untouched.
“Some may take this as narcissistic and showing off but if you knew how much courage it took to do this and the body trauma I have experienced as a kid you wouldn’t think those things,” Smith continued. “Thank you for helping me celebrate my body AS IT IS @ryanpfluger. I have never felt safer than I did with you.”
Ciara’s New Song “Greatest Love” Is Perfect And Really Personal
Valentine’s Day is just two days away, but Ciara has already started the celebrations early. The 33-year-old put on quite the sexy performance in her music video for new single, Greatest Love.
Pushing about the love she has for her husband, Ciara sang, “I should’ve known when you took my son as your own / I ain’t saying I ain’t like all the carats and the stone / It’s just your love that I want / Now it’s you and me against, ‘gainst the entire world, the entire world / I see our love when I look at our baby girl, I’m a lucky girl.”
The song, produced by Jasper and Rod Cameron, is the kind of slow bop I’ll be body rolling into spring with; It picks up right where 2013’s “Body Party” left off. But “Greatest Love” is, first and foremost, a love song for Ciara’s husband Russell Wilson. Lines like “I should’ve known when you took my son as your own” and “I see our love when I look at our baby girl, I’m a lucky girl” are direct references to their blended family. Ciara’s oldest son is with rapper Future and, speaking of him, I couldn’t help but wonder if this line was about their breakup: “Ask God to take out everything toxic in my life and baby, he did.”
The video comes after the Grammy winning singer announced another endeavor last week, her Beauty Marks Entertainment company – a company where music intersects with fashion, tech, film and philanthropy.
Speaking at the 2019 MAKERS conference, she couldn’t help but gush about her man Russell and his ongoing support.
‘I’m a strong woman but I need a strong man by my side, and I know I can do anything that I put my mind to,’ she told Yahoo Lifestyle.
‘But I think at some point in time it’s good to let somebody also do some stuff for you too. The best thing is when you have a man that’s strong. A strong man that’s smart and wise and also loves you and has your back and lifts you up and empowers you.’
