Vestax has reportedly gone bankrupt

Vestax has reportedly gone bankrupt, with a Japanese news website providing details of the situation.

After initial rumblings in October that the DJ equipment manufacturer had gone out of business, the Japanese press is now saying the company ceased operations in August.

Teikoku Databank writes that Vestax’s bankruptcy proceedings commenced on December 5 while its financial liabilities stand at 900 million yen (approximately $7.5 million).

Founded in 1977, Vestax launched its range of turntables in the late 90s, with the PDX-2000 a direct competitor to the Technics SL1200s and 1210s.
