Swedish House Mafia farewell present has arrived
The group’s final statement comes in the form of a 22-track compilation album called ’Until Now’. Like you should know by now, Swedsih House Mafia is no more. Axwell, Steven Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso have parted ways in pursuit of solo careers. The disasterous Halloween party in Haunted Coliseum, which Ingrosso unfortunately headlined, wasn't a good career choice. Other than that the masters of mainstream house are doing really well by themselves.
Axwell ranks #16 in The Official Global DJ Rankings
Sebastian Ingrosso is #18
Angello is last from the trio, but that not really down the line, as he ranks #19!
The final studio compilation album and a worthy farewall to all the fans, listeners and ravers who’ve kept a close eye on the group since it was officially formed in 2008. Entitled ’the faces of mainstream progressive house music’, the Swedish House Mafia presents you a variety of tracks, from established and up&coming artists.
The first single from the album’s called Greyhound. Before the summer of 2012, Absolut Vodka released a limited edition grapefruit vodka called ’Absolut Greyhound’. SHM promoted the drink with their song in the commercial. The official video for Greyhound has over 18 million views. The song itself dates back to the end of 2011. Watch the big-budget Absolut commercial/video, that some think looks like a ’Lady-Gaga family reunion’ and give us your thoughts.
Antidote, the second single to be lifted, was a collaboration with Knife Party which debuted on the 4th spot in UK charts. ’Don’t You Worry Child’ is another single. It is the last sutdio recording of SHM. They performed it for the first time at their final UK gig, at the Milton Keynes Bowl on July 14, 2012. 'Don’t You Worry Child’ was inspired by the beauty of Australia, it features the vocals of the underground songwriter from Sweden, John Martin. There’s some mash-ups as well. Dirty South and The Usual Suspects meet SHM and Tinie Tempah in the track that’s become one ’Walking Alone feat. Erik Hecht/ Miami 2 Ibiza.’
There’s lots and lots of great tracks on ’Out Now’, but what’s more impressive, is the coherency between different tracks. Listening to the compilation gaplessly (like you can do below), gives you a feeling of a live set from SHM being performed. So you can put this masterful compilation album on whatever the occasion, be it joggin or hosting a party. The faces of progressive house music have gotten lots and lots of good karma for this one, you can be sure. Helping newcomers by giving them a spot in the compilation or mash-up, they’ve also given the fans a worthy and superb farewell present.

Nero stranded in NYC, working with Skrillex
Bad luck Boston! Nero is very sorry, but he can't make it to the show due to the extreme weather conditions. Seems that hurricane Sandy will be stepping in to keep the crowds on their feet anyway and Nero will be hoping to rebook a show there as soon as the hurricane has past. It's a real shame the people cannot enjoy their Halloween with a DJ set by the world's premier dubstep and drum&bass group Nero. Daniel Stephens and Joseph Ray with vocalist Alana Watson aka Nero is currently 29th in The Official DJ Rankings.
Until then, enjoy the latest tune by Nero, an EP released on the 22th October featuring passionate vocals and psy-trance like samples.
And watch the latest video 'Must be the feeling' by Nero!
Looking ahead, there's a lot of excitement over the collaboration of Skrillex and Nero which the group out UK has announced in an interview. Nero’s debut album Welcome Reality was released on October 22, the re-pack includes two brand new original Nero tracks, “Won’t You (Be There)” and “Etude” plus the huge Skrillex/Nero remix of “Promises”. Nero has been in the studio with fellow bass fiend Skrillex, working on a joint remix for new OWSLA artist MONSTA. Stephens said in a recent interview: “It’s always weird doing collaborations I guess, because you can always be worried that it could turn out and you don’t like it, but they do…but we’ve done these two remix collaborations now with Sonny – this MONSTA one and the Promises one as well. And they both just feel really natural and like we worked together really well."

DJ Bl3nd giving you chills down your spine on Halloween(Updated)
Halloween is a busy season for the masked electro house and dubstep DJ Bl3nd. There isn't much information about the person of this DJ, although there is a lot of talk about his do-it-yourself success over the recent years. Bl3nd is currently 23rd on The Official DJ Rankings and this indicates that he means business. That's really impressive, considering that the artist started out by creating live videos of himself dancing and spinning high energy, hard beats in his now signature mask.
He's got 2 million likes on Facebook and over 87,000 Twitter followers and the fanbase is steadily growing without him even leaving the United States for a show. That's right, he's only performed in North-America, but he has fans all over the world from Germany to Peru. For the pleasure of those fans he's planning to get on those stages in the first half of 2013. That's just what DJ Bl3nd is all about as he said in an interview:"I Love Music, I Love Dancing, and I Love to DJ. The feeling is indescribable when I see the crowd raising their hands and dancing to the music knowing that it’s you that’s making them happy." There's a downside to the success story as well, a lot of people have accused him for being a fake and releasing other artist's works under his own name. But he's a newcomer to the scene and we'll have to see how he handles his business in the coming times.
There certainly is a Halloweeny feeling to Bl3nd's new music video for the song 'Berserk', then again, it's Halloween 24/7 for the masked DJ. Look at the fresh video below!
DJ Bl3nd is going to be performing for your enjoyment in NY on the Eve of Halloween, but has shows booked until the end of the year. Check out the flyer!
Recently DJ Bl3nd released a collaboration mix with DJ 4lLY, DEORRO, KASKADE vs. HARD ROCK SOFA, TREYY G. Give us your thoughts on the mix!
