JEFF MILLS WORKING ON NEW “exclusive” INSTRUMENT

Always with one eye on the sky, Detroit techno traveller Jeff Mills has revealed he’s developing a new percussion instrument inspired by a UFO sighting over Los Angeles in the 1950s. In case, if you dont know him well enough. Jeff Mills, along with Robert Hood, Carl Craig, and Joey Beltram, is one of the biggest American names in techno.

A post on his Facebook page revealed that he’s working with London-based designer Yuri Suzukion the instrument, with the idea of having something “special” and “exclusive” to his shows.

It’s not the first time the two have collaborated, coming together for the digital hybrid disc in 2010, which saw Suzuki create a disc with vinyl on one side and CD on the other.

Mills recently performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for his Light From The Outside World arrangement and had his say on the EDM debate, saying it’s “not the first scapegoat of electronic music”.
