Aphex Twin’s ‘Syro’ won a Grammy

After claiming first prize in our top albums of 2014 chart, Aphex Twin’s ‘Syro’ won a Grammy last night.

Richard D. James’ sixth album, released on Warp last September, beat off competition from Deadmau5, Little Dragon, Mat Zo and Röyksopp & Robyn to win Best Dance/Electronic Album.

While Tiësto won Best Remixed Recording for his rework of John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’, Clean Bandit’s Jess Glynne collaboration ‘Rather Be’ pipped Disclosure, Basement Jaxx, Duke Dumont and Zhu to Best Dance Recording.

Even though Daft Punk weren’t directly involved at this year’s show, the duo are the subject of this pretty cringeworthy mashup by Pentatonix, who won Best Arrangement, Instrumental Or Acapella.
