APHEX TWIN’S ‘SYRO’ FIGHT FOR GRAMMY

Aphex’s new album has been shortlisted for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the Grammys.

The Los Angeles-based music awards are casting the net further in terms of genres for 2015. There are two new additions to the categories of the Grammys this year: Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album.

‘Syro’, released in September by Warp, is Aphex Twin’s first studio album since ‘Drukqs’ in 2001.

It will compete against Deadmau5’s ‘While (1<2)’, Little Dragon’s ‘Nabuma Rubberband’, Mat Zo’s ‘Damage Control’ as well as Röyksopp & Robyn ‘Do It Again’ for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

The ceremony will take place on February 8 when the results of the votes cast by Royal Academy Members will be announced.
